Every corner of the Amalfi Coast feels downright magical. It has a natural beauty and romantic charm that you can’t find anywhere else in the world. I love photographing weddings at Amalfi Coast and have shot several special occasions there for couples over the years.

There are plenty of things to keep in mind when planning an Amalfi Coast destination wedding, especially if it’s your first time visiting the Amalfi Coast. But not to worry; I’ve sifted through all my experience and put together an Amalfi Coast destination wedding guide. This planning guide will help you feel set up for success when it comes to planning the perfect wedding in on the Amalfi Coast.

Book Way In Advance

The Amalfi Coast is an incredibly popular destination for couples and general tourists alike. If you’re seriously thinking about an Amalfi Coast destination wedding, you have to plan well in advance.

There are a few reasons for this. First, planning ahead will ensure there is enough availability at different venues for you and your guests. And when you plan ahead, you’re more likely to secure better travel deals and transportation options.

You’ll also save money by scheduling in advance. If there’s one surefire way to make the cost of your Amalfi Coast destination wedding skyrocket, it’s to try to make something work at the last minute. Book your venue and vendors well in advance so there are no concerns about availability or travel arrangements.

Use A Local Wedding Planner

The Amalfi Coast is truly breathtaking, with many amazing spots to explore. However, it can also be a logistical nightmare at times, which is very difficult to navigate. That’s why it’s important to work with a local wedding planner.

A local wedding planner can ensure your Amalfi Coast destination wedding is set up for success from start to finish. Not only will they understand the ins and outs of the area, but they’ll be able to anticipate quirks you might not consider, like local events or ordinances.

I’ve worked with Lindeman Weddings in the past, and they are a great resource. Not only are they wonderful people, but they’re dedicated to ensuring their clients have the best wedding day possible! I’d highly recommend them to anyone considering an Amalfi Coast destination wedding.

Keep An Eye On The Weather

If you’re planning an Amalfi Coast destination wedding, know that the weather can be unpredictable at times. Most of the time, you’ll be able to enjoy gorgeous, warm Mediterranean weather. However, there can be unexpected bouts of rain and wind.

Do some research to find the best time of year for your Amalfi Coast destination wedding. Check the weather forecast as you get closer to the big day so you’re prepared for any changes in the weather. And ask your venue if they have an indoor option as a backup, just in case things get rainy.

While most happy couples don’t have any issues with the weather, it’s always good to be prepared. The last thing you want is to spend a lot of time and money planning an Amalfi Coast destination wedding and not be able to enjoy it because of the rain!

Plan Your Transportation

In the vein of planning ahead, it’s important to schedule your transportation well in advance. Not only will you want to schedule your flight, but you’ll need to consider transportation around the Amalfi Coast. This is because the roads are incredibly hard to navigate.

We’re talking roads that edge along steep cliffs with drop-offs, dangerously sharp curves and congested local traffic. Trying to drive yourself around for your Amalfi Coast destination wedding is just asking for trouble. Use local public transportation or hire a private transportation service to ensure everyone makes your Amalfi Coast destination wedding on time (and in one piece.)

Pay Attention To Local Rules

There are a lot of local regulations that tourists might not be privy to, such as noise restrictions and parking rules. If you’re new to the Amalfi Coast, you likely aren’t aware of these and could unintentionally create opportunities for fines.

If you’re working with a local wedding planner, they can keep you abreast of these rules and regulations. Otherwise, do your research beforehand and check out parking rules in areas you plan to visit. Tourist areas tend to have limited parking availability as well.

If you pay attention to local laws and ordinances, you can stay informed so that everything will go smoothly for your Amalfi Coast destination wedding.
